Katy the thing is to take your camera everywhere you go. Never leave the house without it. Get up early in the morning, go out at dusk, when its raining. Climb tall buildings . lay on the ground. take pics from as many different angles as possible. In a busy market put your camera as close to the ground as possible. Stand in a place for an hour and watch what go's on. Watch people, look at shadows at different times of the day. Look for long shadows in the winter when the sun stays low. But dont go out thinking to much about taking great photos, when you try too hard it dont happen. And remember everone was a beginner once. HaPPy Sh00ting

For a beginner im very impressed with your action shots as this not an easy area to get good pictures.
You obviously have a natural ability for this type of shot.
Great start to your gallery and keep up the good work Smile

You have a natural eye, I think. Your photos are very very good. The only photo in your portfolio I didn't care for was Loch Ard Boathouse - I think it's because of the panaramic format and also I think the subtle colors may have worked better in a more diffuse light. Otherwise I think it's beautiful work. I've been at it for many years and if you want to discuss photography, I would be more than glad to hear from you.

I'm a beginner too although been taking photos for years. Only just started uploading photos. You've got some good shots in your portfolio and I particularly like the flower experiment and African sunset.I've noticed the subject is quite central in most of your photos. Maybe try taking shots from a different angle and remember the rule of thirds. (That's what I was told when I started!)
