Lighting Practice

By rowarrior
As we had the Monday off after the Manchester and London portrait meets, we dragged poor Mr Roberts over to Heaton Park to play with some lighting set-ups (because obviously we hadn't done enough portrait photography over the weekend Wink )

Lacking any proper models we just had to make do with what we had lying around Wink

C&Cs welcome!

Now see, shot 1: The model could easily be mistaken for a distinguished prof, with wisdom far beyond his years and then shot 2: errrr, all decorum out the window...back the to the tried and trusted methods of pap avoidance.
but you are right Fran, thems is darn good cheekbones!

It was all done with flashes. One pointing behind the head at the column with a snoot on, set to manual, one to the right of me with a grid on at about a 45 degrees to him, and one on the camera firing the other flashes.

An excellent portrait, I'm sure even Mr S can't claim he doesn't like it.

Those green splodges in V2 do add a definite manic feel to the picture. Love the Pets/captive animals as first category choice.
