I remember these and going to school on them. They had real conductors too. I had a book with all the numbers of the Birmingham buses, this was back in about 1960, when i was 12 or 13.
I went to Wythall but all the buses were in two sheds, it was a Wednesday so did you go at the weekend?

THe 50 E went to the Maypole and Druids Heath,the 41 went past my School at Turves Green but I used the 45 to West Heath Terminus and walked the rest.
WE all used to jump off on the terminus Island and try and beat the bus to the stop much to the enjoyment of the conductor...NOT !
It was a penny ha'peny which I later saved(and walked all the way) so I could afford to go to the Villa...it took ages and a lot of walking.
