I think a bit of clean is needed. Makes a very interesting image. They have quite few boats there. A great find.

Trapping minnows for bait. A little boot-legging. Guitar picking on the porch and reaching out a little during salmon runs. What an ideal life.

Evening Daisymaye, there are a few fishermen that live at Finn Slough & those are the boats they use for a living. I had noticed that the channel seemed to have been intentionally drained & blocked off at the mouth,& that the homes were having renovation work done on them,so it will be interesting to view again in 6 months. Thanks for viewing & comments.

Hi TG, thanks for the music video enjoyed it.Not sure about the boot-legging,I think it's been taken over by some weird green plant, but the other two choices sound goodSmile

Have you had the opportunity to visit this location?

Cheers

What a wonderful scene. The shack has a sort of fairytale charm but seems right at home amongst all that workaday chaos.
Most unusual and totally engaging.

Good afternoon Eric, glad you liked this image & of the positive way in which you viewed it, would make the owner pleased to read your input. There is a charm among the chaos, and even more so, among the residents of this very small community of artists & fishermen. Thanks for the kind words & for your UA,appreciated.
Cheers

Yes Ron Have been there...Took photos of Finn Slough 40 years ago. Is the big wooden Barn like
fish processing plant still there? Probably gone. TG

Hi TG, I wonder how much it has changed in that time frame, the homes & boats would be different I would think. No big wooden barn there, but there is one nearer to Steveston Village, where their was a fish processing plant & a few houses that are now part of a museum remembering the early 1900's history of that region.
Hear were in for a sunny week end, enjoy it when it arrives.

Good to hear that Ron. A sort of heritage village with the wooden docks and fish plant. A very worthwhile part of Fraser River fishing history saved. When I ever get back to Steveston you bet I will relive some time there. TG
