Snorting fire.

This is a shot I've been after for a while, though not perfect. The image would have been much better if my position was 20 degrees further round so we could see more of the fuselarge and canopy. I have also had to crop quite heavily to get rid of a distractingly bright white sky thus losing two of the prop blades. However, I am quite pleased with the result. A spit of flame is not necessarily released every time one of these beasts cracks into life so an element of luck is involved. 16 Spitfires sprang to life at Duxford on Saturday and I was (nearly) in the right place at the right time. Hope you like it, thanks for looking, Rich.

Nice catch of a 'wet start' - sharp and clean.

I think your position was good in getting BOTH sides of the fire as yet again one of these fine machines comes to life..
