Play catch

By rykers
Taken at a display at the Exmoor Falconry centre.
Had my 15 month old son on my back so may be a little blurred but glad I got the moment when the owl caught the food.
I have another shot where the owl has his eyed closed at the moment of impact.

Great Shot Rykers!!

Owls are fantastic creatures. Alot of people think that they can rotate their heads 360 degrees. Its not true, they can rotate just past 180 degrees both ways.

They also believe that owls can see in pitch black darkness. Again, not true but can see very well with just a small anount of light from a match.

They close their eyes on impact to protect the eyes from damage. Wonderful creatures, fantastic shot.

Love it
