Taken the evening before the Whitby shot, this another image from my few days in Yorkshire.
It had been fairly grey all afternoon, but the sun occasionally found its way through.
2-stop hard grad placed on the horizon, then underexposed to retain detail in the cliffs. Dodged in Elements to return the foreground colour.
As ever, all comments, critique etc. welcome.

lovely lighting very nice indeed
The white of the cliffs with the sunlight on them really stand out against the dark sky and sea. Very nice.
Great viewpoint and composition - great light too
Lovely image & the moody sky make it's a super shot
I like this but I feel the sky is a bit dull so I did a mod.
Great capture .Well done .
has a lovely soft feel...well executed
I like the way the horizon runs straight off from the top of the cliff
Fantastic shot, great foreground detail.
I like the strong diagonals running through the image. Light on the cliffs adds the finishing touch.
Really good light to highlight the cliffs. Samsalt's mod lifts it a lot.
great shot Robert , happy to make it 30.
Thanks all - first one to 30 for a while.
