For Love

By Sahyadri
17 years and 4 million rupees ( when gold costed 15 rupees for a tola=11gms), The Taj Mahal - a king's symbol of his love for his wife. When Shahjahan built this wonder, he wanted to create heaven on earth.

Legend has it that he cut off the thumbs of all artisans who worked so that they do not recreate the Taj ever.

Taj, perfect as it can ever get is truly awe inspiring and we were lost in another world.

Thank you for dropping by and your comments.
soon to come : Jaipur and Ranthambhore Smile
have a great weekend.

An impressive building ok, but the shots are quite dark and lack colour or contrast. V4 works to a certain extent giving it an old world feel to it. But I would do a bit of editing on these. Paul

V5 is the superb classic shot of the Taj. Lovely set, I won't give it a "thumbs up" in case I lose them! LOL.

Love this set, the monumental and the intimate. V3 is just beautiful, my favourite individual image - beautifully timed and composed.
So you've been on your travels! Looking forward to more.

Thank you Paul for your inputs. The shots were taken very early morning and hence dark.... I am no photoshopper and I tried to do minimum correction whatsoever to these shots. You are right, more editing can make these look a lot different perhaps better...
Another thing, Taj is not an "impressive building" It is one of teh seven wonders and once you see it, you dont describe it as anything but a vision that just appear before you as you enter the gates Smile have a great weekend. Much appreaciate your critique. Hope you would visit again...

It's good to see you again, Radhika!
I have a different favourite from this set, it's Version 2 - so very different to the more famous views, beautifully composed. V3 says a lot, too, the figures look so small in proportion to their surroundings.

So your saying that to be impressed by such a place in not the right way to feel ?????? Hmmm

My point was merely that to show the impressiveness of the building that it deserves, then maybe a little work on the levels etc would do it more justice..

Öbefore centuries in India love materialize as Taj Mahal ..!!!. More than a photo itís a symbol of eternal love, power of hard work and heights of Indian architecture
I like V2 and V4..welldone
