The title reflects the ISO used for these two shots taken on the Paris Metro. I wanted to find out just how good the images would be if I wound the ISO up high.
The EXIF is the same for both images.
Hand-held using Liveview to 'compose' the shots whilst trying to look as if I was merely fiddling with the controls. The silent shutter mode works exceptionally well, as these shots proved to me.Smile
I reckon these are blooming' good results for such high ISO, and makes me even more pleased with the camera.

Many thanks to all for recent comments, they make this middle-aged-going-on-young man very happyGrin
Special thanks to the two Sue's (Sue118 and Sue_R) for their UA's on Catching Up.

Two great candid images, each crammed with an array of possible anecdotes and post narratives.

Your Canon has handled the high ISO spectacularly well, Malc: no matter how I went about it, if I tried the same, I'd get sussed out for sure.
You must be delighted with these results.

No noise reduction either? Very impressive. I tried this once on the London Underground and nearly got thumped!

Exceptionally good for such a high ISO.
I turn the shutter noise down on the 60D and it's still blinkin' noisy so I'm very envious.

No sign of noise here Mac, a lovely candid and the girls seem quite oblivious of what you're doing, too busy chattering away.

V2 shows huge detail on the route board in the train and the bottles in the vending machine.

A great tribute to you and the new camera.

No NR Dave, just altered levels and tweaked the colours a tad.

It was the same on the 7D I had...made no difference to the shutter noise, this one is brilliant in these situations though.Smile

Wow - this is impressive. Lillian very kindly lent me her 5D Mk III for ten minutes or so when we went to the BWC recently. Unfortunately I have no way of downloading the images or converting them to DNG at the moment unless I upgrade to the latest version of Lightroom which I'm not overly keen to do. What do you use?... Great results from Le Metro - sharp and clear and no noise!

Nice new trains on Ligne 7, I see - unless you have cloned out all the graffiti Smile
I try not to go above base ISO if I can avoid it; the noise level in the D7000 is commendable at any level but the M4/3 needs care; even so, results at 800 from an expedition this morning are more than acceptable.
I haven't tried the silent shutter on the Nikon but the G2 has the noisiest shutter I have ever met Sad
Two nice candids, anyhow, and excellent colour to go with everything else.

Excellent candid in V1, and wonderful ISO performance. The trick is to get a good exposure, and youve done that.

Yes,they have come a long way with the ISO from the ''early'' days of digital Malc.
I must try it out on that black cat in a coal cellar I hear folk talking about !!
But it is only old fogies like us that will remember coal cellars !!
Super shots.
