And you are...?

By saltireblue
A somewhat superior Constantine the Great photographed during his visit to York.
Approached by a lowly subject he put on a look of utter disdain, making this humble photographer feel very inferior.

We had fun at his expense, didn't we... I still cannot believe that this statue was intended seriously, it's so preposterous. Very nicely composed for sheer contempt seen through a Carry on Cleo mental filter...

Mmmmm, I see the attitude of aristocrats hasn't changed over the years! Great use of DOF.

Excellent dof and angle of view, Malc. Knowing what the whole looks like this image is open to quite a few interpretations WinkGrinGrin

He's great, and he knows it Smile
Great, too, is your use of shallow dof. Not a very large aperture, but very close.
A pleasing character study. Like Pooh-Bah in The Mikado, one suspects he was born sneering.

It's the eye contact (if that's possible with a stone statue) that makes this image work for me.

He better not visit the Dockers Club Malc,
otherwise he would get a thick ear with that superior look he has.
And these guys that bring their own snooker cue and balls do not impress us either !!
Good snooty shot.

Witty and very amusing excellent write-up which is wonderfully explanatory of the impact of the image. Great POV and gorgeous image, almost 3D effect created by the DOF.

The dof works really well in this Malc. You were lucky to catch him out and about.

I've just found a picture of the full statue on Google, and can better appreciate your pov, and what a clever idea you came up with for this.

Masterly use of the DoF. Love it, it is so theatrical.
