Escape barred

By saltireblue
Escape is within reach, but the way is barred.

Had a stint as GE last week so spent loads of time looking at images I otherwise would never have seen.
I would recommend a week as GE for everyone. It makes you really think about the images, not just look at them, and only takes a max. of 2 hours a day for seven days.
I found new photographers whose images I liked, that I probably wouldn't have some across otherwise.

Thanks for all the comments and interest on my previous upload, I was surprised by its popularity!

Thanks for bothering.

A great your processing....
I totally agree that being GE is an eye opener, I also learnt so much about different genres of photography

This image is extremely strong, Malc. I could not squeeze through one of those squares, even in colour.
I have barred myself (Blush) from the GEship as my almost complete antipathy to photos of fur and feathers would impair my judgement. Unlike Herself I can't suspend my disbelief for a complete week. Better for me to be fair to the membership and stand aside.
It's quite enough to be a grumpy old git without heaping opprobrium on my own head!

It is a fun thing to do and like you say, you come across photographers you've never seen before and their awesome photos. This is a very good image Malc, really like it in mono. Does seem kind of like a prison with the bars.

Very nice. The regular, disciplined bars, the relaxed interior.
We really do need to explore Folkestone...

Interesting and excellent work, Malc.

ps, I toyed with the idea of doing a GE some time ago and decided not to as my health is so up and down that I may not be able to spend the time doing it.

Disappointing, but I don't want to let anyone down.

A great mono Malcolm, like way the bars disect the image, and the centre square shows the line of flagstone leading the eye through the imageSmile

Strong composition and processing Malc.
Give me chains I need chains, two hours a day to look at the all, I doubt that somehow.
You're a better man than me...

Superb shot indeed! I get that locked in feeling. The thing is am I looking from the outside-in or inside-out? Interesting vibes and very well crafted.
Kindest regards
