Gone (or been) fishing

By saltireblue
On our recent trip to the west of Norway, we came across this small fishing harbour that had seen better days.
The 'big picture' in V1 is followed by some details from 'round the back' where I poked my nose to see what was what.

I'd appreciate some feedback on these as they are the first images processed on my new external screen and the brightness/contrast etc is quite different from the screen I have been using up to now.

Thanks for all recent comments, they are appreciated.

Thanks for bothering.

Malc

The colours are simply stunning, Malc. While I find Versions 4, 5 and 7 a little too bright in the palest areas there is plenty of detail, as can be seen against the available dark background - no doubt I've been avoiding the bright lights this 'summer'.
All immensely satisfying images, with the detail shots very well selected.
Regards
Bill

Lots of detail and clarity, Malc. The brightness and contrast looks fine to me but I am using my lap top and a very slight tilt of the screen changes the contrast anyway.

That's the problem I have with the laptop, Dave...how do you know what is the correct angle?
Thanks mate.

V2 is the composition for me. The contrast is a bit more extreme than I've seen in your previous uploads, but maybe we are just not used to bright sun!
I find it very difficult to process on the laptop, as you say the slightest change to the angle of the screen throws everything out.

V1 is photographically spot I but I like the intimacy of 2- 7. Needless to say, I have a particular preference for version 6!

You could not place fishing buildings much closer to the water than here, Malc: and I do like the close up inspections in the others, the detail quite excellent and V 7 included especially for Mick.
Because of difficulty I have sitting at the desk with the Mac, I am viewing your images on my iPad and typically on it images do tend to seem brighter than on the computer, but on this occasion the exposure, brightness and contrast look spot on. And there is no problem with the angle os viewing such as one has on a laptop.

I love the soft quality of the colour in this series. So gentle and peaceful. Beautifully done.

Look fine to me Malc with the colours and rust here.
But I fear I must take Lillian to task here.
She is MAD to call Heineken BEER.
I have had a bigger hang over after a night on the IRN BRU !!
Super set.

These are brilliant Malc, especially v5 for me (but I wish that yellow buoy wasn't there - and that doesn't mean you can change it to red Wink). I just love all that paraphernalia - you've captured it so well.

It was all going so well ,then you sunk to micks level ,booze and rustSmile, fascinating place ,contrast and colour look ok to me ,but if your screen is like mine you will need to knock the brightness down a lot or get dark glassesSmile

A photographers dream, a set of images each extremely worthy of their own unique slot. Photograph number IV is something quite wonderful, a gorgeous assortment of fishing related items, composed and captured quite beautifully.

Regards Nathan
A special set of great images, 2 & 5 are my favourites, 5 is a stunner that deserves a place on a wall small or large it's one of those images that sing to the eye of the viewer. I wish it were mine Malc.
