Imperfect symmetry

By saltireblue
Hello again.
Still not had time to get out and take any new images, but at least time to upload an old 'un from an earlier visit to OSlo uni.
I just like the way the symmetry is 'spoiled' by the off-set column at the entrance to the tunnel.

Many thanks for the good wishes for Mrs. Salty, her condition is now under control.

Thanks for bothering.

Many thanks to John (lifesnapper) for the UA. Very appreciated.

Symmetry only really works for me when I can spend time checking out the tiny breaks that give it life and character. Good one.

I think the best sort of symmetry is that which is just ever so slightly 'out'; that livens it up a bit. Here the clean lines, simple materials and sharp edges combine to lead the eye deeper and deeper into the picture and just as vanishing point rushes ever closer is an offset panel, a single uncompensated diagonal and what might just be a bucket . . . intriguing.

Glad to hear the good news.

A fraction off perfection is often what Mother Nature does and it usually works for me Malc. Really pleased the lady of the house is back to normal again.

My best regards to you both,

An excellent choice for mono - like this for the same reasons as you, that off-set column!
My Best Wishes for your wife!

Very little in life seems perfect, but this shot is as near perfect for symmetry as possible, Malc.
Have just commented on your last posting, but am glad to hear your report on Mrs. S.

So glad "Mrs. Salty" is better!!
So interesting the way the column being off a bit unsettles one in viewing it - but makes it more interesting.
