The Lone Visitor

By saltireblue
Firstly, let me say how surprised I am at the reception my previous upload received - over all expectations, so, many thanks to all who visited, voted, commented and/or awarded - all much appreciated.

This image was taken at the Tromsø¸ Fisheries Museum. On the day we were there, visitors were very few and far between. Here, a lone woman is watching one of many video feeds about the fishing industry and the perils and difficulties of trawler fishing in the very unfriendly Norwegian Sea.

Thanks for bothering.
Malc

Superb b&w as per usual, Malc. Effectively negative space on the right isolates the visitor's isolation, a common emotion for a trawlerman I expect; the floor line on the left suggests to me the sense of falling over the edge . . . . Great composition too. Haul in another gong, sir.

a fine example of how effectively you use dark areas and deep blacks in your images..

Bit dark in there, you'd have thought that they'd have turned some lights on. SmileSmile
Another splendid effort Malc, If I knew anything about it i'd have said all that stuff
that Bill said. He seems to know what he's talking about.

One is often a good number when it comes to this type of shot, Malc' as you've very well demonstrated here.

She might have got some confidence after finding you, otherwise the place looks very haunting...

A nice moody image with the feeling of isolation conveyed with the acres of empty space. Usual superb mono presentation.

A scene I'd probably never think of capturing yet so effective in mono.

Good to visit these places on a quiet day, without lots of others getting in the way! The odd one, however, like here adds extra interest to the well-composed shot👍

Are you sure she is not playing charades Malc? I bet the other players are hiding behind the cardboard cut outs Wink
