The tube

By saltireblue
Been a while since my last upload, and that's partly due to the best ever early
Christmas present. My 34yo daughter, whom I haven't seen since she was 8yo, accepted a friend request from me on fb and we have been chatting online, getting to know each other. Strange, I only opened a fb account because of my foliopic site, otherwise I wouldn't touch it.
I tried once before to get in touch when I found her on My Space (does that still exist?), but didn't get a response then because it turns out she was having personal problems and didn't need any more emotion in her life.

So I am a very happy bunny at the moment.

To the serious business of the above image.
Taken inside the pedestrian tube on the top of the Centre Pompidou, I have given it this particular treatment in order to eliminate the view of the city outside. I also like the way the treatment has strengthened the effect of the repeated metal hoops decreasing into the distance.

Many thanks for looking.

Malc

I love the image, but your news I love even more.

I opened an FB page a while back, and mostly I've used it to reconnect with people I've lost touch with years ago.

Vidunderlige nyheter!

I like the results!

funny thing about FB---I had heard that one of my grandfather's brothers children had named a child with the same name I have, and another child after my mother-- I always thought it was a peculiar story and laughed it off--- You already know the rest--- someone has connected us on face book---Amazing--

A reconnection with family is always good news and this is one of the best.

I recognised the scene, having stood there and done that. It looks much busier than the last time I was there (these days we tend to stay below and watch people) but the folk standing there are looking at anything but the view; strange. But that's people for you; I wouldn't have it any other way.

That sounds like such good and welcome news on the home front, Malc, esp. at this family season of the year.
And an impressive B and W image with the hoops of the pedestrian passageway making an excellent subject in itself and also a strong framing for it's human cargo.

I'm on Facebook, but only joined 'cos our Camera Club started it's own page on there! Unlike here on EPZ, I find it very difficult to find things or negotiate my way around or find people, so don't actually use it much! But it's good you're able to have a good natter with your daughter Smile Great shot, and good mono work here, Malc Wink

Oh Malc how lovely for you, take things slow so you won't both be to overwhelmed. Really pleased for you and a super capture.Smile
Love this image Malc. I like the way it draws your eyes down the tunnel.

I know exactly how you're feeling at the moment. A similar thing has just happened to my brother - he found out he has a 32 year old daughter in August this year. He didn't have a clue about her but she searched for him and found him. It's been a huge surprise and emotional for all of the family. I texted my friend when my brother told me the news and said "Something wonderful has just happened to my family". She texted back saying "Have you won millions on the lottery"...I texted back saying "No something much, much better than that has happened!!!".............I know you'll be feeling the same way. So happy for you GrinGrin
