The Weariness of the Long Distance Tourist

By saltireblue
From the interior of York Minster.

I was listening to Iron Maiden's "Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" when I came upon the title for this image. Japanese tourists 'doing Europe'Smile.

My first Monday free tomorrow after going over to 80% work-week at my own request. Weather forecast is good, so Mrs. Salty and I are orf to photograph a new statue park in a wooded area overlooking Oslo. So far, over 20 statues, all portraying women, and all donated by a multi-millionaire, Christian Ringnes, whose family made their money from brewing. The plan is to be over 50 statues when the project is finished.

Sore of foot, sore of head perhaps. Those stone slabs must take their toll; they certainly do on me Blush
The stone seats can't be much better when tiredness takes over; complete exhaustion however is another matter.
The statue park sounds like a good idea for a visit. Hopefully you will offer us visual insights soon.
Happy Monday to you both!
Regards
Bill

As good a place as any to crash out for a wee while, Malc; good candid capture.
Enjoy your Monday off: when I retired and went to 0% I always felt it was the best career move I made........so many other interests to pursue which were not possible during the working years.

Yawn. Once you've seen one cathedral you've seen them all. Grin

Lots of Chinese tourists in Scotland this year too Malc, all god for the business people around the country.
Sounds like a great day out tomorrow, especially if the Autumnal colours are out where you're going.
Good Luck

Good candid! This reminds me of our journey home from South Korea. When we flew back from Osaka to Amsterdam, I was sat next to a Japanese lady who fell asleep with her head on my shoulder. I didn't like to wake her so let her stay there for ages. She eventually woke up and sat up. Neither of us said anything about it. We just carried on as if it had never happened, which was all a bit weird really.
