Upside down

By saltireblue
A boring autumnal reflection tinkered with to make it more interesting. The original was taken on the dullest day of the year light-wise and I have tried to make it interesting...hmmm. Only you can decide if I have, that's not true. I feel I have succeeded, you may either agree or not, as the case may be.

Nothing much to report, we are in "waiting mode" - autumn has finished and winter can't quite make up its mind yet...a period of transition and waiting to see when winter finally decided that this part of the world looks better in white...

Thanks for popping in, and thanks for bothering.

An interesting view on the world, and one which works really well. I particularly like the contrast between the warmth of the orange autumnal grasses against the cold spindle like fingers of the cold lifeless limbs of the trees.

This is very cool. Great image.
Harris Tweed grasses and skeletal trees straight out of MacBeth, a fine combination Malc.

The few, select colours work very well and the twigs look brittle. It works for me.

Linda's comment could scarcely be bettered, I think. The coloured third is pushed a little, but not beyond the bounds of realism.
Minus 1C coming back from the theatre at 9.30 this evening . . . far from Nordic I know; a shock to the system nonetheless.

Very stark and cold, Malc, even the reds and golds don't provide any warmth. Like your composition with the two trees angling towards the bottom corners.

I like the tinkering. Looks striking and impressive to me.
The autumn is almost gone on this part of the world, but the winter is lingering here as well, it shows a spring face at the daytime and around 5 degrees Celsius at night.

Excellent work. I really like the roughness of the whole image and the flaming colors.

I think that colour really needs the strength you've given it in order to make itself heard against all that high contrast black and white.
Good image.
Rotate it... those trees don't like being dangled.
