Cubic cubed

By saltireblue
The front ends of four, two-wheeled transportation devices taken at a local event day back in the days when this sort of activity was still legal and allowed.

For those having difficulty in deciphering what they are looking at, I have uploaded the original as a version - it may make more sense to some...the original is just for those not understanding what they are seeing in the lead image, not for comparison - which-do-you-prefer purposes...Smile

Many thanks to all who showed their interest in last week's effort, in whichever way it was. Much appreciated.

Thanks for bothering

Shapes show in mono, but I suspect bikers will want colour...

No explanation needed, Malc Wink

Love the main upload but for once I think I may even prefer colour. It reminds me strangely of Paul Nash' semi-abstraction... Hope this links to the right page...

A busy image Malc and sorry but I prefer the colour version. In your high contrast BW conversion seems to me you’ve lost a lot of the fine detail that holds my attention in the original. What do us Brummies know though Smile

Excellent mono 😁

I think fine detail is very much overrated.

Beemers, eh? ...flash gits.

Both images have their own merit for different reasons unusually I prefer the colour on this occasion

I think the colour makes the whole image more decipherable, I even noticed the biker in the frame! The mono however, has merit as well, as it reduces the image to shapes rather than machines. Take your pick

A very well composed and framed image, Malc, good to see the original colour, which brings out the detail better in the shadow areas, but the mono turns it into a super abstract 😃👍

Superbly processed, Malc'.
A bit like life really, you see what it is then make it into something better.
Unless you're an MP of course. Smile

I didn't need the colour, though it's good to see.

Cool. Have one of those X30 award things. And a colour version.....
do i need to send some medication? Smile

when you upload two versions, it inevitably asks the viewer to make a mono vs colour comparison and
name a preference .. if I were to decide which of the versions must stay, i think it would be the b&w

I prefer to ponder and wonder so guess b&w for me. And not being a biker girl might enter into it too. Your title made me think rubics cube. Which made me feel like turning the image, in the middle.

As Alan says, detail is overrated...

Sometimes, the whole editing task is to remove detail, or at least suppress it so that shapes and forms can dominate.

The monitor me and would have almost gone for a tighter crop to remove that man in the back on the left hand side.
Really like the bold toning. Something you would not get from colours.
