Starbucks coffee is absolute crap, unlike your photo which is super duper.
As she reads, she seems to drift in and out of reality, no doubt in harmony with the twists and turns of the plot.

The photo is far better than the establishment (I often change the '"B" to another letter). Fortunately for us in our town, all the cafes are small "family" concerns and serve excellent coffee, the Portuguese love their coffee.

As for: "It's better to grow, but so much harder to drink", well, I could think of another substance to which that statement might apply. Personally, I never had a problem growing - my mother was always complaining about having constantly to refresh my school uniforms - but getting used to the taste of alcohol, not to mention the occasional fag, was more difficult.
