Playschool - the square window

By saltireblue
Alright, alright...I know it is rectangular, not square...

From one of our recent trips to the west coast of Norway. A delightful little coastal town called Skudeneshavn.
The Old Town is white-painted houses, terracotta-coloured roofs, you can't choose, it is a regulated area....more to follow another day.

A window I saw which reminded me of Playschool the more senior ones of you may remember this.

Many thanks for recent comments. I'd better go and do some commenting as I have neglected epz recently. Haven't been in the mood for it.

Wonderful study of detail and textures in this neglected window frame with the one pane of roses making such a contrast with the other obscured ones.

Well the individual panes are square so it's quite understandable.
This is beautiful grunge. Lovely textures and very pretty.

As a dreadful old square myself I deem this about as square as it could be. I was an especial fan of Floella Benjamin rather than mathematical accuracy Smile
I like this very much. All the panes are different, even the whitewashed ones.

................and we all used to sit there and try and guess if it would be the arched window or not GrinGrin
So are the roses growing indoors?
Is there a picture stuck in the window?
Wonderful texture Malc - and yes I do remember Play school SmileSmile

The roses were inside the window and were real, not imitation. In a vase not visible from this angle.
You remember Playschool? Don't you mean your Gran told you about it young lady?Smile

The only question, did you put the flowers there or were they really there?

The roses make such a striking impact against those wonderfully grotty windows. I love the hint of the vase too. A fab image Malcolm!
