Blitz rubble, Crosby beach

By SarahThomo
Following the Blitz bombing of Liverpool during the second world war, rubble from bomb-damaged areas was transported to the beach at Crosby to bolster the sea defences. It still remains to this day and there are lots of interesting pieces of brick and stonework to be found. A nod here to the work of Tom Fairclough, whose images of the area are stunning, take a look - http://bootlecollateral.blogspot.co.uk/
