Hampi.....the city of boulders

By sawsengee
Hampi in Karnataka is a collection of stone monuments, an open air museum and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Shown here is the boulder landscape with water reflection from the Tungabhadra River with a little row boat and coracles on the left for scale definition. Here are links to further explain Hampi's significance:

V1 is the original colour version

I think this works a treat in black and white ee. Super reflections and the boats are nicely placed in the foreground. Nicely done.

Fascinating. I hadn't heard of this before. To think what these boulders might have been at one time.

How unusual and amazing. A great capture, Sawsengee, something rather different for you today. Works very well in mono as in colour and like both equally 😃👍

An intriguing image, ee and subject matter which, no doubt, there is more to than meets the eye.

I like the more natural look of the color version. What a shame that such a city was reduced to a pile of rubble......it seems history keeps repeating itself in wars.

Hi Joline, the giant boulders are the natural landscape. Smile

This is quite an image and it took some working out in my head.

A mind boggler for sure.
