my heartfelt sympathy goes out to this little hero of an old man... i've been a physically impaired person myself (not s severely as him, to be sure) for only 14 years, but i know too well how much pain and will power it takes to do simple things that unimpaired persons do without effort..

THANK YOU Leo for your heartfelt response & keep your chin up, you are not alone. In the case of the old man, his legs were probably purposefully mangled by elders when he was a child & he forced to beg for money so that the public would have more sympathy fpr a physically impaired child......the elders who did this did not or could not foresee the life this man had to endure for the rest of lhis life!!!
He too was not alone, many such cases were commonly documented. Sad

What a poignant image, ee, and your comment that such injuries have been known to be deliberately inflicted by parents defies belief, although I have heard of the practice elsewhere but could hardly give it credence. It does indeed emphasise how lucky we are in what we have yet take for granted. Allan

What a strange and sad world we inhabit .... hard life lessons can be found on many a street corner indeed.
Your photos teach show me so much about our human world ...its beauty and its tragedies.
