Portrait of a young red karen tribeswoman in Northern Thailand......there are basically 3 karen subgroups namely the hill karen, the white karen & the red karen, only the red karen women wear the neck rings, a symbolism of local tradition of beauty, elegance & poise.

a really lovely look from this lovely woman, Sawsengee.. whatever that is around the neck never appealed to me..
however the portrait is very lovely capturing her in the finest detail..
