Lovely image. The plant it's on suggests an insect in the wild, but the butterfly doesn't look like our native Swallowtail.
May I ask where you took the shot? Just in case you encountered a rare migrant!

Yes it was in the wild and it was shot at the Alameda Gardens in Gibraltar. Actually, I too thought it was a funny sort of swallowtail.

Nice sharp shot with good position of the butterfly in the frame. I find the leaf in the top RH a little distracting though, which could easily be cloned out.

well composed shot.

whould like to see this with the butterfly given more saturation so it as more colour and the background in black & white.

have a go, see what it looks like.
