The clearest night I have seen for a long time afforded me the opportunity to take a few shots of the Spiral Arm of the Milky Way last month during the Pilides Metoer shower.

I have left the metadata on this picture incase any of want to have a go at something similar.

Taken from the tip of the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales overlooking Bardsay Island - the bright spot of light at the bottom of the frame is the Lighthouse on the island.

Top work, Andy!
Beat me to it, too.
I had every intention of trying something similar last week in Cornwall, but forgot that the moon was nearly full...duh!

Marvellous image Andy, I'd love to have a go at an image like this. Not sure my canon eos 500d would be up to it though.

An image Andy which leaves me somewhat speechless, and one which is so very worthy on many accolades.
