The Hermitage

By ScottishHaggis
Morning All.

Warkworth Hermitage is a chapel and priest's house built onto and within a cliff-face on the north bank of the River Coquet in Northumberland,
close to Warkworth Castle. The hermitage consists of an outer portion built of stone and an inner portion hewn from the sandstone cliff
above the river. The chapel was built as a chantry and occupied by a series of clergy from 1489 to 1536.
The only access is a ferry boat from the riverside path below the castle.

Have a great day

I like your angle on this, Kenny, while you have made good use of the local sandstone colour scheme. I might have darkened the upper area of the cliff a touch.
Although we have visited Warkworth Castle many times over the years - it's not very far from us after all - we have never yet been to the Hermitage. I'm not at all keen on little boats 😐😐😐 Wink

A hermit is simply a person to whom civilization has failed to adjust itself.

Thanks Bill. I'm not a fan of little boats either but it only takes a couple of mins you'll be fine Smile
