The Cuillins of Skye...

By Scottishlandscapes
...on Monday the weather changed completely and the sun shone across Skye. I traveled North on the Island, as far as Flodigarry on the East coast, as I returned South I stopped quite a lot, this is one of them, high on the moor above Sligachan, the sun lit these wonderful mountains, Glamaig, Beinn Dearg the ridge in the centre, and Marsco with it's strange angular sides.

That is really nice, they are both very good. On my laptop I would go for pic2 tho. Whichever way, good stuff.

Happy to hear that you had such a good time on Skye this time. The picture is a good proof to that statement. I don't really know, do I like the lighter on best, or the moodier one - ??? They are both gorgeous.

Thanks Johanna, my hostess on Skye, Lesley from Coruisk House was telling me that it took her a long time to realise that Skye actually looks better when it's dark and moody, I went out of my way to prove her correct. In the process I really enjoyed my stay on The Misty Isle... I'll be back.

Definately v2 for me, the lighter one is superb. My brother and members of our club have just done the ridge. This is a very saleable picture Dougie.
Which stitcher and blending process did you use as I'm keen to do more panos.

PTgui and I fiddled the rest a little, but not much, it was hand held, hence the large number of files. I do use "really right stuff" panorama head and bar.

Another image that beckons me back.
Love how version 2 brings out the detail in the FG and lights up the patch of heather.
Cheers M'dear you are of course quite right.

Wonderful bit of work Dougie. I prefer the 2nd version with the lighter foreground. Nothing wrong with handheld panos. All my Italy pans were handheld.

stunning capture. I prefer pic 2 personally

Hi Dougie, Yes second version for me, but first is still very good. For me this is one of your best of the recent shots. So clear I feel I could walk out into it.
