For Moira...

By Scottishlandscapes
...yesterday Moira mrswoolybill suggested a touch of blue, I wonder if I've gone too far in my touch?

It's also in yesterdays image as a variant.

I have just been comparing the two ... and you original is my favourite ... a warmer feel to it all together

Sounds like too much blue, a heavy hand, maybe why my pastry is always flat.

Great clarity and tonal range.

A difficult one to assess, Dougie: I am drawn towards both, although with this version there seems slightly increased clarity somehow.
Perhaps somewhere just between the two would be ideal.

It's certainly more dramatic Dougie but, like Barbara, I prefer yesterday's version (although I wouldn't compare this one to a flat pastry).

The blue tint certainly provide that little bit of something, but in my humble opinion, I think it masks the natural beauty contained within the monochrome image,

After all your work, I do prefer yesterday's Dougie, although I can't explain why.

I did say a tiny bit of blue... Wink This does work for me though, particularly in the cloud reflections.

Compared to my posting scheduled for August 1st this is a tiny bit of blue Smile
Your treatment certainly adds some 'bite' though yesterday's option was more your own intention.

blue is generally a cold colour but I find it adds a little should I say warmth! to this image and for that reason I prefer todays (I did compare the two before making a decision)

Have flipped back and forward between the shots Dougie and have to say that I find the previous one preferable. A bit warmer looking. Moira

This version somehow seems sharper, but I have to admit to preferring the original, Dougie.

I agree with Ronnie that the blue enhances the clarity but yes perhaps a little overzealous with the cool filter slider.
