Storr loch..

By Scottishlandscapes
...The little Loch that sits under the Old man of Storr, Loch Leathan is often forgotten in the rush of shots of the Old Man. I wonder how you feel about this shot against the other with the huge cloud above the Old Man? All comments welcome good o bad, apathy is not allowed.

hello Dougie, this is indeed a fine composition, I visited this area about a year ago and I have never shown my photos as yet of the Storr. With regard to my latest upload well the little compact that I used for the shot is very sharp in the foreground and not so in the background such as I find it anyway Smile

I prefer this one - I think the fence and snow patches really complement the vista beyond. This view is usually taken without any appreciable FG and it really works well, like it a lot,

Much prefer this one. Lovely composition and lighting. Agree with Ian.

hi Doug, love the soft light in this, and the broad sweeping comp. Couldn't be apathetic about it Wink

I really like both, but if I had to choose I would go for this one. Beautiful composition. I love the little patches of snow in the foreground, and it's a gorgeous sky too.

Great light and the leading fence is an extra plus.

I think I too prefer this one to your previous upload of the Old Man Dougie, the comp with the fence and the smattering of snow works really well in my opinion.

Yep, this one gets my vote too.
I like the fence leading into the scene plus I like the larger area of loch and the sky/ land balance is just right.
Excellent image.

Like the the lead-in created by the fence and the shoreline.
Will be on Skye to sample the scenery towards the beginning of May, so keep the images coming.

I think this loch and fencing makes a marvellous foreground to the much-photographed Old Man. Great shot Douglas.
