Winter's Chill...

By Scottishlandscapes
...suddenly the weather has turned particularly cold in Scotland, wind from the East always means it's colder. The grasses take on a ginger, cinnamon colour and the lochans have a patina of ice. Hardly a cloud in the sky to compliment the mountains dusted with fresh snow, the deep blue of the sky is a harsh cold message from outer space.

What a great sight on a stormy, wet morning! Absolutely brilliant. The ice on the surface gives it a slight ghostly feel - love it.
Had a long walk of about three hours yesterday, and now my head feels a little lighter. When the storm ceases I'll have another walk - perhaps the virus doesn't like fresh air.... (hopefully!)
Have a nice weekend,
Good news Johanna hope the improvement continues.

Those delicate grasses in the foreground seem to collect your vision and sweep it through the image into the distance. Lovely work, Dougie.

A great shot, Dougie, the winter sun catching the f/g grasses so nicely. It does look cold in that shot despite the sun......I don't know if 'winter' has arrived earlier than usual, but it seems that way to me.

Great composition, love the colours & those 'textures' in the ice.....warm blood running thro' your veins Dougie ?....or could it be Blair Athol ?
I'm banned from drinking malt or any spirits sadly. Red wine in moderation whatever that is?

Beautiful image Dougie - So your mountains have snow as well now !

For the moment it came in on an East wind.

A cracker Dougie.

Lovely image of a beautiful place and so good to see the snow on the hills again. I can hear Rannoch Moor calling me Smile

One of your best IMO - a cracker. Love the sense of movement and the sweep of colour.
