Castle Stalker...

By Scottishlandscapes
...an early start to my visit to the West, stopped by a fuel spillage on the A82 just North of Tyndrum, road closed.
So off down the diversion to Oban and I decided to look at the Castle as I was passing.

Absolute cracker, great mono.

Lovely and calm Doug.Mono suits this and must be seen large.
Tom.
It's lovely BUT the castle should be more to the right. On a third. The image is uneasy because of where it is.

Fantastic shot for a mono.
Whets my pallet nicely, ... I'm in the middle of packing up my house and moving out to very, very near this spot! Smile

All the best

Lovely shot Dougie. These clouds look very dramatic in mono, suspect they would look a bit more ordinary in colour.
Loads of moisture in the air causing all sorts of blues Ally.

You passed by at the right time Dougie. The bay is not the 'prettiest' at low tide with it's acres of 'weed',but these reflections make for a lovely picture. The 'white cottages' mentioned by someone is,I believe, the Glen Sanda 'superquarry' which I won't comment about as some of my friends from Ballachulish have had jobs there in the past!!!!.
Cheers,
John.

Superb scenic mono, I believe it is perfectly symmetrical too. My daft sense of nonsense suggests reposting this as an abstract, rotated through 90 degrees, in a few months' time, just to see who twigs first Wink

Love the horizontal streaks running through the reflections - they give a strong sense of depth and distance, a bit like hatching in an ink drawing. Very effective in b&w. Sorry I was in a rush earlier, bit more time now to enjoy this...

Nice image Dougie, personally I like the centre positioning, if you put the castle to the right you would lose that big cloud and that great bg. Good conversion.

Lovely composition and shadow detail Dougie with slight air of mystery and foreboding about it.

Beautiful. At first I thought it was Eileen donan castle and wondered where the bridge has gone. someone mentioned about the thirds. I think you have it in thirds. Well captured. How do you manage to find places to stop for some of your images? I see things but no where to pull in before or after. Or perhaps my husband just won't find somewhere?!
