Iona Beach...

By Scottishlandscapes
...not a long walk to find this beach on Iona, but we had a way to go to the cottage back at Salen. This is right beside the ferry pier. I just loved the light and the line of rocks leading the eye into the image.

Nice one, Dougie. The rocks act as a good lead in.

I'll be away working up north for a few days (Shetland and Aberdeenshire) so might not be commenting as much.

Super shot, Dougie. I was particularly taken with the colour of the water when I was there. Fabulous turquoise, probably due to the sands. Lovely spot, great shot.

In my jean's pocket rests a pebble - white Iona marble which I found 2006 on the same little white sandy beach. I showed it its home and it started crying....Wink or were the tears mine?
I hope that the tears didn't last Johanna whether they were yours or the wee pebble's.

Great image love the light. Going to the isle of lewis next week and if I manage to get some light on the beaches there like that I'll be delighted. Another inspiring shot.
Cheers Billy

Iona's white sands and the pink rocks of the Ross of Mull are a stunning combination. Great shot Dougie.
