Those Ancient Stones...

By Scottishlandscapes
...this is a merge of a high contrast mono version with the colour, a technique passed on by Phil_R, it seems to have worked for me too.

A wonderful capture of light & shadow to this lovely calm looking image.
I particularly like the very long shadows of the two foremost stones.
Wonderful shapes.

The shadows raking across the land make this shot Dougie and the letterbox format suits it perfectly. Another fine image to add to a PF full of top work.

Excellent job Dougie, looks like it worked for you. The stones stand out and those shadows are great. Also that format suits the subject well.

One I'm due you for that Phil.

Definitely very different in treatment and composition, this succeeds in creating an atmosphere of ancient history. Perhaps it's the shadows, who knows? Somehow it makes me feel rather than see.
The crop is very good too. Wonderful image.

Something to do with those long shadows crossing the track, then add the verticals - all those angles. Sorry, it's the composition that's grabbing me, but the tones are superb. Very interesting technique, and way above my head so I'll just enjoy.
