Tolsta...

By Scottishlandscapes
...another from An Amazing journey with Kin on the Isle of Lewis. Tolsta beach is to the north of Stornoway, and the morning brought some strong wind and big seas rolling in.

You're up late, aren't you! Or is it early Smile
Love this composition - it's simple and pleasing.
The diagonal of the incoming surf on the sand is dynamic, and a pleasing sky in addition makes it a cracker.

A limited palette of subtle colours beautifully crafted Dougie.
I headed north also but over the moorland below Stornoway.

Hello Dougie, I didn't really find this beach that appealling as I said on the day, but you have shown a fine composition of it here with the available light,

all the best

You really did have a good time on that break, how many shots did you manage? Wink

Tommy
I shot about 7 gig, hav'nt counted the saved files as yet, quite a lot, a few still to come, not many though.

We had to make it work for the cost factor Tommy,it was pretty expensive with hotels ferry crossing and all the rest. The occasional splash of red wine behind my ears for medicinal purposes.

simply stunning, powerful in its vastness!
One of the things I admire most about your images, Dougie, is how natural and inviting they always look, and I always get the feeling as if I am right there on location even though I am just looking at a photograph. This a lovely image complimented by beautiful colours and a first rate sky.

A wonderful clear morning to spend on the beach must be heaven... a superb picture, the clouds give the feel of a strong wind and the blue tones are like a breeze of fresh air.
We had a beautiful sunny day here and for the first time in ten days I had the time for a long walk over the hills. I enjoyed that very much.

Hope you keep well,
Jo
Sounds like you had a great day Jo, excellent my friend, just what you were needing. I had a good chat with my nephew in So Cal and he has some good things for me software... straight from the home of software.

Take care sounds like things are getting better for you.

Bit behind with checking out the photos on here, been too busy with my new modelling career Smile

This is a lovely simple scene. As Brian said, I would probably have passed this one by, thinking there was nothing of interest, but you've proved us both very wrong.

Lovely foam on the incoming waves!. Fab beach but probably a little chilly for the bikini!
