Beautiful composition the way the rock and cottage finally lead you through to the mountain - excellent.

A really good composition and good framing which leads the eye through the picture. The size of the mountain in the background gives scale to it all.
The zoom lens must been near the upper end ?

Lucky to catch the break in the clouds on the three main points in the image,
well timed. Almost feels as if the image is about to come alive, the perspective and composition have a great marriage.

Deserved EC...

Well done Dougie for achieving the ultimate on this site...great shot catching the light in the right places...its a good job when I was up there the week before you that I rolled that big stone over to help your composition of this shot, lol. click

Thanks for moving the boulder Doug, it's amazing what a plate of porridge will do for you. All the best

Just clicked on your site and found this image which I much prefer to my own. I think the lighting is better (not so warm, maybe, but also not so contrasty and therefore better details are shown). I think very early morning is perhaps not the best time for this shot. A well deserved EC.
Best wishes,

I have just visited this very spot but missed out on the good lighting (that's my story!Smile).

You've caught the moment very well and, with it being such a familiar and well photographed scene, that's all the more relevant. Nice one!

This is great, just what I am hoping to shoot when we get up to Scotland, just 4 weeks away now. If I don't come back with some snaps like yours, I shall complain to the Scottish tourist board!!!!
