…the wind was blowing the sea into the Bay at Ardmair when I arrived and the sound of the water rushing up the pebble beach was soothing, but after three days it became annoying and I couldn't get the noise out of my head.

This is a 30second walk down the path from my trip cottage.

I cant believe you found the sea noise annoying..
I was brought up in a house by the sea and loved waking up to that wondrous sound

Certainly a good location to have only a short walk away Dougie, a fine capture of this view

Yes I can hear this. The water rushes in and then sucks back under the next wave.

Yes,the sound of the waves over the pebbles can mess with your head after a while Dougie.
It is like a ticking clock. It is OK if you do not think about it,but if you do,you feel like throwing the clock out the window !!
Good shot and no sign of noise in it !!
Mick.

Very atmospheric. But I don't think I'd want to be dabbling my toes in there just yet, Dougie: the elements would conspire against my keeping warm and dry. The clouds look too looming for me!

Bill

Beautifully composed Dougie; lovely combination of cloud-waves and wave-clouds Smile

The waves crashing on the pebbled beach is one I think I could endure OK, Dougie: have just been into Google Maps again before commenting and I think I saw the cottages where you may have stayed.
What a wonderful spot in the far north west.
Very nicely timed to capture the line of the wave just before it crashes down and further assaults your sensesWinkWinkWink.

You did have a week of 'changeable' weather Dougie - I'm sure in the right conditions it would have been perfect. What a shame. Did you see any divers in the bay? I've seen one or two when I've been passing.
