Corrie Foreshore...

By Scottishlandscapes
...a wonderful morning on the Isle of Arran, set in the River Clyde, Scotland. I've been promising myself a trip here for some time.

Intriguing, those rocks are quite sculptural and the textures below them are strange - what caused those hard straight lines, do you know? Lovely, engaging image.

Tremendous colour and detail Dougie. How can you get down that low?
13 Jul 2009 7:25PM
This is a most impressive image Dougie. The composition is excellent, the colour to die for, and the geology fascinating - I'm curious as to the answer to Moira's question.

Mike
I pm'd Moira Mike because the answer is quite long, basically I'm not sure. The whole island shows signs if huge slipping and some parts of the island is tilted at almost 90 degrees from the level., but this probably happened millions of years ago.

Danny getting down is easy, getting upis much harder.

I really like this Ron, particularly the way the shape of the 2 clouds echoes the rocks.

Thanks for the pm, it's those very strange lines that fascinate me, they look like folds ironed into fabric.

Seems that these rocks are the remnants of wind blown sand dunes and the more you look at them the more you realise how right the geologists might be. The colours in the bed rock with the beautifully placed boulders make for a superb FG for the backdrop beyond.

Fascinating, Dougie; not merely the corrugated foreshore but also the boulder-shaped clouds! Splendid tones too, and composition.

An image full of interest Dougie. Agree with all the above and I also like the little splash of pink in the bush just below the skyline on the right. Thoughtfully composed as always.

A fascinating scene with those round rocks on that unusual flat area. You got some good weather over there Dougie.
