…a small side road at Polbain a couple of miles from Achiltibuie in Assynt. Wonderful views across the sea and sky that goes on for ever. A place that could be the start of something new and not just a dead end on a map.

Probably the end of my trip from Assynt for the moment anyway.

Time to get out the car Dougie,
and use Shanks Pony for your transport.
Did you get any English tourists asking you where
Mr Shanks was to hire one of his ponies ?
A well coloured shot.

This is a wonderful area - miles from anywhere and a feeling that nothing really matters except 'being'. We'll be in Assynt again soon hoping for some good light (Achmelvich - not Achiltiebuie!! Wink).

We all come to a dead end somewhere... I think, I could have taken it as a hint to just stay there! Smile
Lovely place once more.

The End. Of the trip, of the land, of civilization as we know it... It has a rather satisfying feel.

A dead end only for the motor car.
What a fabulous sky, Dougie!

The sign is only to be obeyed by those that dare not explore further. The end of a road need not be the end of the road called the journey of life.
A place to spend some time in contemplation, relaxed, before heading on to whatever awaits.

Yes, looks as if we are running out of land here, Dougie, so a wise sign to install for someWinkWinkWink.

Yes the road comes to an end there Dougie but for me nothing beats the views out to sea past the islands. How many from the land were forced to cross the sea in past years.........?

All good things come to an end and this good image is a good one to end with.

That road leading no doubt down to the water and then over to those wonderful islands. Beautiful blue sky too Dougie. Moira

Love the accent of that sign Dougie; beautifully composed.
