Frosty Lochan...

By Scottishlandscapes
...just my favourite place in Scotland. Lochan na h'Achlaise on Rannoch Moor. The frost was quite hard when I arrived, bitterly cold. Met up with friend & tremendous photographer Paul Holloway, a great morning.

***I think I got the lid back on tight Moira.***

A beautiful composition, Dougie, and all the more effective for the colour juxtaposition of the complimentary warm oranges against those cool blues!

Fabulous vertical triptych cold - warm - cold. Little bobbles of cloud to match the curly tops of the grasses. Tip-top.

Dougie, was there back in February and we couldn't even see the island let alone the tree for fog and rain. A first class image.

Wow, this looks cold indeed - but there was the sun coming up and lighting the hills. Wonderful contrast in light - the icy darkness in the fg and the orange sun on the hills. Superb!
