Loch Achtriochtan...

By Scottishlandscapes
...a bitterly cold day with a sharp wind and nowhere to hide. The line of cloud was covering part of the ridge and the wind made a reflection into a jigsaw puzzle.

A real energetic sweep to this, Dougie. Tasty. I could see it as a B&W too.

A beautiful image Dougie of a spot I know well. I have struggled with that shadow in the past but you make it look good with an impression of the mountains to the west looming over the valley.

Phil you might like to look at another shot taken a while back.

A hat and cloves day Dougie but the cold is no problem to a braw Scot like yourself. I bet you warmed up a bit when you saw the result on the back of your camera.

That's a very menacing cloud sweeping over. Dark and predatory.

This shot from the edge of the lochan makes it look so much bigger and more extensive than it seems from the road, Dougie.
Lovely banding effect.......blue sky, snow tops, winter warm colours and cool greys of the water, and with a nice dollop of shadow to finish things off.

Wonderful sweep of the hills down to the loch side, with gorgeous light,Dougie,
