Loch Maree...

By Scottishlandscapes
...I started my trip to Mellon Udrigle here and I finished coming back this way too. The light was kinder after a bit of a wait, the sun broke through a hole in the cloud for a while then vanished for the rest of the day.

A Cracker!
Lovely lighting on "the tree" and the Slioch cast in darkness is so well placed in the frame.
Beautifully taken.

Saphire, emerald and little specks of diamonds in a band of gold. A master jweller would find inspiration in the light you have here.

Seizing the moment again, Dougie. There is more to all forms of photography than meets the eye; it saddens me when I encounter disparaging comments from folk who refuse to acknowledge more than a single genre. Here we have mastery over light, subject matter and composition - that's what it's all about!

Bill

To be in the right place at the right moment is one of life's arts.
You managed - and came up with one of your best images ever.
Excellent one!

And it's up by the Shin
And up by the 'Naver
And the long winding shores
Of Loch Maree
By Ben Hope and Ben Loyal
By Stack and by Arkle
The road reaches far
Now the summer is here

So as we close another chapter
That we label Archive Gold
Still the Conon flows each morning
And the dew falls from the sloe
But today you took me walking
Through a land that we have lost
While our children sit at websites
With no access to the cost

This is a beauty, Dougie. Quality composition, but that delicately lit tree steals the show - as indeed it should.
