...my good friend and companion landscaper on Skye, Claire Carter, gets herself lost in the waters at Talisker Bay, as they swirl and churn up the two coloured sand.
Cracking work Dougie! - thanks for the kind words!
Good to see Paul Morgan Back with us.
Strong composition, Dougie, with interesting patterns in the f/g sand and water. And I do like the inclusion occasionally of a figure in landscapes to provide human interest and also a sense of scale.
Nice one Dougie .
Cheers Guys and Gals.
Love that long swirl of water, the figure just fixes the focal point nicely.
Great image Dougie - love the patterns in the sand/water.
Lovely swirls and Claire gives it a bit extra
Lovely image Dougie........Sandy
Supreme capture of the water, delightful indeed. The waters of Talisker are justly famed.
What amazing water Dougie. That really is an image from a master craftsman.
pleased to make it 30 Dougie...............
Love those swirls, Dougie
Lost in Talisker? Surely you just follow your nose to the distillery and then have a medicinal dram or three to help you over your traumatic experience?
Love the swirling waters and the inclusion of your companion makes this a fine image Dougie.
Great swirls and a very lovely pleasing image...Phil
what a striking image, youve captured it well. its hard for me to tell whats sand and water, love the shapes.lesley
That sand really is something special and you've used it to great effect in your composition. I'm not usually one for people in a landscape but seeing that it's such a respected tog, I'll forgive you on this occasion, Dougie.
The patterns in the sand and water lead us beautifully into the beach and hills beyond and although I too am not usually a fan of people in landscapes, it not only seems right here but actually an essential part of the image. A very special picture.
this is stunning.... well deserved award on this
Wow, pretty amazing image Dougie....the patterns in the sand are something else...its got an almost silvery look about it....this I take it is a combination of the sand on Talisker and the light?
Beautiful image and light and love the swirling water and sand combination.Excellent Doug.
congrats on the GEA.lesley
Cracking shot Dougie! Carefully composed with the figure just contained within the watery background.
Wonderful shot with beautiful patterns and colours Dougie.
Many thanks for GEA award David, much appreciated.
At least when I walk into your frame you make the most of it Dougie. I was mesmerised by the black and white patterns in the sands - it is quite a sight.
Almost missed this one Dougie. I love the detail in the foreground and the soft light.
The water is absolutely stunning,
Wonderful image .That water looks a bit scarey to me! Gill
Very nice capture and writeup. Your friend Sky Claire adds a touch of charm to the landscape and gives it a sense of scale. Looks like she is waiting for you to catch up
