Love the layers of grey Dougie - this is full of atmosphere and you have to wonder why anyone would want to sail in these conditions!

ou were so lucky that the boat just sailed into the right compositional position. Even the horizon is straight...some people have all the luck.

Love this one Dougie..the folk on the boat are in for a soaking by the looks of the rain clouds !

The horizontal banding and extra low horizon both add so much to this shot, Dougie: very moody and atmospheric, the downpours in the far distance raising the levels of the Firth and with that yacht's presence so necessary and so well positioned in the scene.

I do love the blue/grey effect created by distance, Dougie. The detail of Ailsa behind the veil of rain and the sail boat are the cherry on top of the proverbial cake here.
This should adorn your wall.
I envisage a slight crop, taking a slice off the top to give a more pano format?

The placement of the boat emphasizes its loneliness in a grand and dramatic setting. Super work Dougie.

This is wonderful, Dougie. Layer upon layer of atmospheric mood and drama. The boat and island may be dwarfed by their stormy environment, but they're critical. Fantastic.

If there is someone saying, there is no charm in bad weather - this is the best ever image to prove this person wrong.
Absolutely brilliant image. Love it!
If I was in that boat, I's have been afraid, that with the downpour coming, the boat might sink. Smile

There's nothing like layers of scottish weather to give a shot atmosphere! Poor wee yacht! Great shot!

Thank You Johanna for your award, I don't get many awards these days but when I get one from a good friend it means so much more.

Thanks to all for the kind comments on a moment I was lucky enough to see and catch and share with you all.

Lovely monochromatic shot Dougie and perfectly cropped too. One of those serendipitous moments when everything comes together and someone with skill and vision is there to capture it.
