...I was driving along to this beach at Talmine in Sutherland when I passed this girl on the road. Never though much of it til she went onto the sand and I have a few images of a bare back rider in the sand. This is one of a couple I want to post.
Never expected the swooping seagull to get in on the act.

She has a fine upright style, so is obviously a capable rider, Dougie. That's a working horse she's riding. Beautiful image. Dressed rehearsal for a Lady Godiva production?

Freedom to roam, freedom to soar. Bare back and bare feet, she's seriously good but she knows how to enjoy herself as well. The gull is a bonus. Flight is real freedom...

It's the unexpected that sometimes make the best of shots but you have to be prepared and with an open mind: what a delightful place to have a canter, and the bird getting in on the act is an extra bonus that for sure could never have been planned.

Good when all the elements appear to come together unexpectedly Dougie.
Well timed with all the elements here

The seagull balances the picture beautifully and horse and rider is something different for you Dougie, simply a great shot

Lovely shot Dougie, and the gull is a bonus.
About the church; I read that they did all the measuring with a knotted rope in those times.

well composed shot Dougie, it is hard to get it this sharp when you got movement.

I guess it is the seagull that makes her react and get the defensive pose

Seagulls swoop in where angels fear to fly, Dougie!
Freedom is a lovely sight indeed.

She's a real amazone! Lovely horse - I'd love to be able to do this! But I must admit, I've never been on a horseback!
