...sheep have the right of way on single track roads, or so they think.
The mountain rises out of the gloom across Achnahaird Bay as some sunlight splashes the moor with colour.

Wow! ....what a skyline. I'd never get tired of looking at that. Lovely image that feels so natural. So much photography of the West coast looks over-worked, over-glamourized, artificial and staged. It says more about photography than it does about the landscape. Something your work is never guilty of, Dougie. Excellent.

Magnificent Suilven - instantly recognisable, as are the dreaded sheep! Alan has hit the nail on the head.

That unmistakable skyline softened by the passing clouds. Like the sheep too, so typical of the area. Great photography Dougie.

Another superb composition that captures the character of the land to perfection.
Sheep regard themselves as kings of the road on the moorland of County Durham, too; they seem to want to graze on the tarmac. They don't appear to take much notice of the landscape, either.

Do the sheep use the passing places, I wonder? Wonderfully surreal beauty, another world where different priorities apply.

Look! My friends were on the road as well. Oh... I love this one!
I was about to say thanks for the good comments and your User Award arrived.
Thanks very much Johanna you've made my day.

As they seem to have right of way you'd have needed to reverse to one of the plentiful passing places on this stretch???.......unless of course you used a telephoto, in which case perhaps they are more spread out than seems so.
Another so easily recognisable mountain outline on the horizon.
The band of sunlight contrasts well with the otherwise duller vista.

A beautiful vista, the skyline dominating the image whilst the local farming stock takes a stroll...

Another splendid view Dougie.
I recall as a little nipper there was a big house not far from where I stayed.
It had a big garden full of sheep.
I used to think how nice of them to keep sheep as pets.
It was not until later on I discovered it was a slaughterhouse !!

Dougie, Lovely image with atmosphere. I'm sure that's the same sheep I passed on the way down to Achnahaird beach a few weeks ago Wink

Gosh Dougie those sheep seem very pleased to see you Just like the boys at our local dance hall eyeing up the female talent but the sheep are better looking than some of them .
A stunning image Dougie and the sheep lover from Germany certainly knows how to please a man.

They seem to be welcoming an old friend, DougieWink Or just being naturally inquisitive, like most sheep.

A grand view in the bg, if one sees beyond the four-legged fg interest.Smile
