Two Boats...

By Scottishlandscapes
...I posted Three Boats from the other side of the little pair on Loch Stack a few days back, standing at the far end of the pier.

They look quite new.
The fixed oar and rowlock design seems to me eminently sensible, though some might argue it facilitates easy theft.

It's not exactly an inner city environment where escape with a boat might be easier or more commonplace.

Crime is low in the rural areas of the Highlands. They are also pretty heavy.

Right. Very different from the situation in England then... stuff being nicked all the time, livestock as well as equipment. I recall years ago a local farmer being prosecuted after police found a stolen tractor inside one of his haystacks... ( yes, we used to have actual haystacks. )

We still have farm crime, machinery and livestock, sheep mostly. Most of the land in Rural Scotland is owned by large estates with workers dotted across the county's a couple of phone calls and a tractor parked across a single track road is quite effective.

It' not helped by the drastic reduction of cops on the roads and streets and the closures of Police stations.

Enough already.

Three, now two, I wonder which you chose for the 'one' shot?

It's been a long time since I've been in the far north, Dougie. Looks like you had a productive time up there. Nicely composed with the arcing pier providing a natural frame for the boats.

A beautiful combination of light and shade Dougie. The reeds in the water also enhance the image.

Delicious light, outstanding composition and a shot packed from front to back with irresistible features. What a beauty, Dougie.
