I have often sat like this looking at a scene, wondering how to capture it in the best composition, or waiting for the light to change or improve: patience usually pays off in the end, Dougie.

I love candid shots like this and I love the fact that you have incredible scenery and light as well as a great subject - the whole thing really tells a story. Jude

The stacks were all in front of him the clouds all behind him, he was waiting for them both to come together.

I really like this Dougie - it's a very beautiful picture of life and has a serene feel to it. It's that feeling of patience, I think!

Plenty to inspire him here by the looks of it. Right now I wish I was in that field sitting against the bale. Really like this shot. Moira

He borrowed your hat Dougie I think. Now he's resting and getting inspired, maybe dreaming of what he will paint. A great candid shot............Sandy

Sorry not to have commented on this earlier, Dougie, I slipped it into my shortlist and promptly forgot - - -
This image is just so right: a gentle candid in quietly beautiful surroundings, it achieves so much more than the mere depiction of place. Delicious.
Regards
Bill

Oh, I love it! Nothing more frustrating than being ready for it, but no inspiration coming your way... I know the feeling.

Well seen Dougie. At least he had the courage to paint outdoors.
