Winter Birch...

By Scottishlandscapes
...amazingly elegant trees with or without leaves, they sparkle in sunlight and in numbers have a rosy glow from a distance when winter bare.

Good composition.
Have you tried this as a B&W, Dougie? ...I have, and I think it's even better!
Alan I still think the colour in this case is better.

I just love the texture of the branches! The gentle switch of the backdrop as the snowy ridge rises is very pleasing.

When the sun catches their trunks they really live up to the silver name.

There are few things as beautiful as sunlight on a winter tree. The colour and mono are very different images. Personally I preferthe colour version Dougie.

I agree V1 is better, but the B&W I had in mind was slightly different Wink
Show us Alan.

You might still fancy the colour...I just have a B&W habit Grin
I did try a higher contrast and the trees blew a little, just like your mod but that's from a lower res image.
I'm staying with the colour Alan, but thanks for the effort my friend.

Lovely light on these trees.
Sorry for having been away so long - but I'm up to my head in work at the moment. Have to clear my mum's house, because our youngest wants to move in. In addition I remodeled our own house, the terrace is in work, the garden in shambles. I am knackered every evening, at the moment I can't even sleep, because every single bone in my body is hurting and every muscle cramps as soon as I turn into another position. Should slow down, but can't. Sad
Take care,
