Having a good old gnaw but still keeping a watchful eye on you, Ann: love the laid back posture with one leg almost dangling there.
You seem to have done a fine job of altering the b/g........I would not have known had you not mentioned it.
And many many congrats. on the awards for your last image......very well done indeed.

wonderful timing ann brilliant detail and colour a cracker nice one Wink
A wee practise for the future. Excellent colour quality and detail, holding the attention of the tiger intent on gnawing through the log.

Super image Ann, the background appears fine to me,

I love this shot of the tiger cub - have one very similar and am struggling with the background as well. Will show my attempt in a day or two.

Aw, the most beautiful cub in a really endearing pose. This place looks wonderful for nature pics. Must get down there one day, if not to take photographs, just to see these beautiful animals.

Ann the tiger cub is superb.Great pose and eye contact.
A very good attempt at changing b/g.
If you use Elements or Photoshop, in Levels you will see three eye droppers.
If you click top one then on area in b/f which should be black, it'll darken the b/g
but will also darken black bits in the tiger and any dark areas in f/g.
You can bring those back by doing a layer mask and brushing over the areas where you want to bring back detail.
There is probably a video link on site to show you how to do this.
I used to clone out area all over to make b/g black but it takes patience and time getting ground edges
of subject.

Nice effort. Tidied up in a mod, and added a little more space at the top.

Couple of tips: Zoom in, a lot; then a lot more. Holding down shift when you click the paint brush paints is a straight line; if you do this on a curve, like a whisker, shift and click in small increments to follow the curve neatly and precisely.

Beautiful capture. Deep

Changing the background is a hard and tedious piece of work. You've made a good attempt at it, and the advice given is excellent.
The tiger cub is adorable no matter the setting.
